Tabriz city to feature Fajr films

An official with Iran Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry in East Azarbaijan Province said the 35th Fajr Film Festival is to be held in the province alongside the main Fajr Film Festival in Tehran.

“The 35th Fajr Film Festival movies are to be screened in Tabriz for the second time,” Ali Moharami told the media.

Moharami added during the festival 20 films of the competition sections will be screened in two different times and the exact schedule is to be announced soon.

The aim of the festival is to cause cultural uplifting in the society especially the youth and strengthen the place of cinema and encourage people to enjoy the latest cinematic works, the cultural official noted.

Mentioning the role and importance of cinema in growth and excellence of public culture, he said that the province has other cultural programs during the 'Fajr Decade' (The days of the Islamic Revolution of Iran victory).

Fajr Film Festival is Iran's annual film festival, held every February.
